We invite you to find out about us ...
Stortford Lodge is an easy-going club. Our members enjoy a balance of service, socialising and fellowship.
Our first meeting was held in 1966. That’s 58 years ago.
Since its inception the Club has raised in excess of $1 million for local, national and international projects and charities and has spent many thousands of hours making a difference to our local, national and international communities. Interested to get involved?

Ongoing Projects
Pekapeka Wetland Repair
Cyclone Gabrielle has left this beautiful Wetland in total disarray. EIT students, Rotary and HDC are working together to repair the damage. This will take a long time but we are committed to make it happen. The Cycle Trail Magazine thanked us for the maintenance of the trail. Over the last few weeks mowing, weeding and spraying has been undertaken by our members and the trail at present looks nice. All this work is been completed during the week.
Waimarama Trail
Peter and Stuart are clearing blackberry on the Waimarama Road section of the trail that we have adopted. The blackberry was starting to encroach on the trail and the HB Regionsl Council asked us if we could clear it back from the trail.
FirewoodSplitting
Firewood project working bee today.
The firewood is for sale for $300 a cord, it’s wet wood but should be nice and dry by next winter if club members are interested.
Social Bike Rides
A part of our Club's weekly activities is a social bike ride around the fantastic Hawke's Bay Cycle Trails, which were originally funded by Rotary Clubs in Hawk's Bay in partnership with Napier City Council and Hawke's Bay Regional Council. Our Club holds weekly rides on Wednesday mornings which are open to anyone. We ride different trails to a suitable coffee stop and then back to our starting point. Thanks to Hawke's Bay Regional Council for helping maintain these beautiful trails for us all to enjoy.
Xmas gifts to the Flaxmere Baptist Church
We were advised that the gifts are to be distributed through the community organisation Resource.
The unwrapped gifts are put into bright red fabric bags produced by Resource volunteers hence the advice not to waste money / time on wrapping.
The Church maintains a database which shares basic family address detail. This sharing of information ensures that gifts are not sent from multiple community agencies to the one family.
This year 1100 children under 15, and 1200 teenagers 15 and older will receive gifts through the coordinated plan.
